So for our Surface Research class we were asked to research a large list of artists. After finishing up over fourteen pages of notes I discovered something interesting. All but just a few currently lived and worked in New York City, and over half of the selected artists achieved their MFA from Yale. I went onto the Yale sight to find out more and it turns out that, for just the sculpture department, only ten students are accepted, per year, into the Yale Professional Art School and Masters program. That’s incredible difficult! I can see how the top conceptual artists got in, one can only hope to achieve what they did. On the Rams note, one of the artists got their MFA from VCU whoop!
